4 color business cards

Item 4/C40 Process Color business cards on premium 12 pt. Kromekote C1S paper is printed in a 200 line screen at 2540 dpi in perfect register to capture the finest details.  BCI's new press technologies include a Direct-to-Press system with a closed loop densitometer.

This means that your process color work will be in perfect registration from the very first sheet. Even in short runs, the color fluctuation is minimal with each order and from order to order. Process color printing is achieved by mixing CMYK or Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black inks in very small dot patterns as the paper passes through the press. The human eye combines these 4 colors that have been laid down on the sheet in different percentages to yield the end result.  If one were to hold a magnifying glass to a process color image the CMYK dot pattern would be noticable.

spot color business cards

Spot color combined with thermography (or a raise) creates a rich, engaging impression with a 3rd dimension. Spot color printing refers to a method of printing where the ink is mixed to the desired color in advance of the press run.  The ink transfers from the ink fountain to the paper without mixing into other ink colors.  In other words, the color is completely determined by the way the ink was mixed prior to the press run.

Each color can be communicated by a number; in the US, the most commonly adopted color system is Pantone or PMS (Pantone Color System). BCI can print up to 4 spot colors in one pass either with or without thermography.  The value of spot color printed business cards is unsurpassed.
